People affected by autism believe increase is 'real,' not diagnostic

過去20年間に自閉スペクトラム疾患と診断される子どもたちの数が増えている。何故だろうか？研究者は一般人と医療専門家がその理由について全く違う見解をもっていることを見いだした。専門家は急激な増加は診断基準の変化によるという意見で一致しているが、直接間接に自閉症に関係する人々は絶対的に患者が増えていると信じている。さらにその原因は新しい環境要因やその他の現代生活からの影響であるとも信じている。
