Journal of Aging and Healthの10月号に発表されたJoseph G. Grzywacz博士らの論文によれば、アメリカでは中年の人々の方が若い人や高齢者より予防目的で補完・代替医療を使う傾向がある。2002年全国健康インタビュー調査の参加者31,044人のデータを解析した結果である。
