中国におけるBt綿のワタキバガの幼虫への影響がScienceに発表された。
中国北部6地方でのBt綿の栽培に関する1997-2007年のデータを解析した。この地方では1000万人の貧しい農家が3800万ヘクタールの農地を耕している。Bt綿の導入によりワタキバガの幼虫が劇的に減少し、GMでない綿でも減少が見られた。
