オーストラリアのブリスベンの大学生800人以上を調査したところ、1/4が1年以内に食べ物に困ったことがあり、6%が何度も空腹食べ物に困っていた。食べ物に不自由している学生の2/3は週に2回以下しか果物を食べず、4%は全く食べない。
（大学生はインスタントラーメンと煮豆の缶詰をよく食べるらしい。）
