幼稚園に入った21,000人の子どもについての米国教育省子ども初期縦断研究データを解析した結果。栄養のある安全な食物が充分供給されない家庭の子どもは特に女の子の読み能力の発達が遅れる。米国では5人に1人の子どもが貧困であり、先進国中では最も高い割合である。
