ニューメキシコ州立大学の研究者らが最近世界で最も辛いトウガラシを発見した。インドのアッサム起源の品種Bhut Jolokiaが、これまでの最も辛いRed Savinaの記録を破って世界一になった。Bhut Jolokiaはスコビル単位Scoville heat units (SHUs)で100万に達し、Red Savinaの577,000の約二倍だった。
