日光と屋内での日焼けマシンによるUV暴露による皮膚がん予防に関して三つの対策を発表した。
・日光の有害影響から守るといった虚偽の宣伝をしているダイエタリーサプリメントの販売業者に警告文書を送った。錠剤やカプセルのようなサプリメントは日焼け止めの代わりにはならない
・日焼け止め成分の安全性評価において局所塗布有効成分の最大使用試験の新しいガイドラインを発表した
・OTC日焼け止め製品モノグラフが最終化されるまで認可無しに販売されている製品の取り締まりに関する企業向けガイダンスを発表した
（2014日焼け止め革新法Sunscreen Innovation Act (SIA)関連の詳細な説明略。皮膚に塗る製品の安全性に関してはFDA Voiceでもとりあげている。経皮吸収の評価はかつてはあまりできなかったのでリスクのある製品がOTC販売されている可能性はある
