AFCパネルは、2004年に意見を発表して以降のクマリンの毒性研究やCYP2A6多型のあるヒトにおけるクマリン代謝についての研究について検討し、2004年に設定したTDI 0.1 mg/kg体重を維持することを決定した。
クマリンの毒性データを検討した結果、週に1-2回TDIの3倍高いクマリンを摂取しても安全上の懸念はないと結論した。
